AAF/OMF exporting page for

POST Production Mix

Please make sure all the tracks are arranged in a workable order: All dialog on their own track(s), All SFX on their own track(s), Music on its own track...  Not each clip on its own track, but as example: track 1-3 contain only dialog, Tracks 4-5 contain only Foley, Tracks 5-7 SFX, Tracks 8-9 Room tones, Tracks 10-12 Music.
Premiere Pro Choose Export AAF or OMF Options I need: Mix down video: UnChecked Breakout to Mono - Checked Render audio clip effects – UnChecked  o  Premier "Remix" feature will not export unless you Render and Replace the clip by right-clicking on it in the timeline, selecting "Render and Replace" Include clip copies without effects - UnChecked Sample rate 48k (Unless your film audio is at 96k) Bit per sample - 24bit Files - Embed audio Format - Broadcast wave file Render - Trim audio IMPORTANT : Handle Frames - choose about 5 seconds (125), this depends on your frame rate, Example: 25FPS would be 25X5sec = 125 frames Render and provide along with the AAF/OMF a separate, MP4 video or MOV, LOW RES,  720p or 1080p, bit depth 24, sample rate 48000 More info: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/export-aaf-files.html
Davinci Resolve Render Settings: Pro Tools In the Deliver tab at the bottom of the Resolve window, select the Pro Tools Preset 1. Video: a.     Advanced settings - Set frame handles- choose about 5 seconds (125), this depends on your frame rate, example 25FPS would be 25X5sec = 125 frames b. Deselect "export video" (Handles will be saved), very important step 2. Audio:     a. Format - Waves     b. Codec - Linear PCM     c. Bit depth - 24     d. Render one track per channel - Checked     e. Channels - Same as source 3. File:     a. Uncheck unique filenames 4. Render You will get: A ton of WAV files (all the audio clips on your timeline) – PLEASE ZIP these into a single ZIP file A small AAF file (metadata, this well help align and sync all the audio when the engineer opens it on Pro Tools; don't be alarmed if it's smaller than 1 MB, that's ok, mine came out at like 700kb for a 3 minute short film) 5. Render and provide along with the AAF/OMF a separate, MP4 video or MOV, LOW RES,  720p or 1080p, bit depth 24, sample rate 48000
Final Cut Pro AAF Instructions provided by our amaing friend and video editor Sally Nellson If you are having trouble with AAF exporting, please track export: Save your project with a new name because we need to deconstruct it a little to make it work. On the audio tracks, set the volume faders to 0DB, Pan Dialog to center and remove all EQs, Compressors, Noise reduction... reverb... so they are straight audio tracks without your mix on it. SFX and music tracks, Try to export these as Stereo wave files. Leaving the tracks panned. Then Solo 1 track and render it out to a wave file, 24bit or 32Bit float. then unsolo and solo the next and render it. And do this for each audio track. Zip them together and send them. --> MAKE sure your session has a clapper at the start or end of the film for sync. If you have lots of audio tracks, you can solo multiple tracks and render them at the same time AS LONG AS there is only ONE track with audio playing at a time. For the music, if you are happy with the edits, just solo the music and run a stereo audio mix, again wave file 24bit or 32bitfloat. Render and provide along with the AAF/OMF a separate, MP4 video or MOV, LOW RES,  720p or 1080p, bit depth 24, sample rate 48000
Track Exporting: (other video editing programs that do not support AAF/OMF) Save your project with a new name because we need to deconstruct it a little to make it work.
